Slow Cooker Beef Shank in Red Wine
  • 3 lbs White Rock Farm beef shanks
  • 2 cups dry red wine
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Season shanks with salt and pepper, sear in a hot skillet.
  2. Place vegetables in slow cooker, top with shanks.
  3. Add wine, broth, tomatoes, and herbs.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours until meat falls off the bone.
  5. Serve over mashed potatoes or polenta.
